The effect of chlor pheniramine maleate (H1 blocker) on soft tisue wound healing in rats objectives:since there is controversy:some workers suggest that h1 blocker has no effect on healing .on the other hand some suggests that h1 blocker has effect on healing. so we decided to work on th effect of chlor pheniramine maleate on soft tissue wound healing in rats. methods:three group of male rats(n=30) weighting 250-350 gr were used.in rats the right side of the mouth was experimenatal and the left side was control.anesthesia was obtained by intra peritoneal injection of ketamin hydrochloride and xaylzin 2%.we injected 2 mg choloro pheniramine maleate in experimental side and 2 mg normal saline in control side. afther that we made incision 1 cm wide and up to bone on both side.no covering was placed over the wounds.no local or systemic antimicrobials were used.we used injectin recall dose 0.5 mg chloro pheniramine maleate for each 12 hours in experimental side and 0.5 mg normal saline on the control side.groups were then sacrificed at '1,n=10','3,n=10','8,n=10' days.we had exisional biopsy and all the tissue were fixing on 10%formaline solution. Tissue were prepared and stained with haematoxylin and eosin(H&E) methods results:no morphological differences were seen between the chlor pheniramine maleate treated wounds and the controls at any of time.we investigated inflammation and fibrous tissue and new vessel in-groups.results were analyzed by pearson chi-square. there is no difference between the groups in our variables. conclusions:at least we found out chlor pheniramine maleate(h1 blocker)has no effect on soft tissue wound healing in rats. |
