Bone Augmentation Alternatives in the Craniofacial Skeleton

Sponsored by: Craniofacial Biology, Implantology Research, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Periodontal Research
Description: Reconstruction of critical-size bone defects in the craniofacial skeleton is an area of extensive research. Each of the standard reconstruction methods has its limitations and complications. New treatment options have recently been investigated, with results that highlighted advantages and disadvantages of these new methods. This discussion will shed light on the limitations, difficulties, and prospects of such new techniques, with special emphasis on bone engineering and bone transport distraction osteogenesis. This program is financially supported by: Craniotech ACR Devices, LLC and Medtronic Inc.
