Stem Cells at Work

Sponsored by: Mineralized Tissue, Pulp Biology
Description: Stem cell therapy for the repair and the regeneration of tissue has been the "promised land" for our patients. Although much has been promised, how fertile has the "promised land" been in the fields of dental and cranio-facial research. The speakers will illustrate using their own research and the research of others the biological strategies and technologies that have been used to make stem cell therapy a reality for our patients. They will also discuss the technical and biological problems that still need to be overcome before stem cell therapy becomes a routine, accepted medical procedure like organ transplants. Educationally, the audience will be exposed to; new technologies, new experimental techniques and new strategies for using stem cells.
