Phisical Terapies and Primary Bone Reparation in Implantoprosthesis

The Magnetoelectric Therapy (TME) is widely used as a support in the orthopedic and traumatological therapies besides in systemic diseases as the rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis etc.

In orthopedic surgery the Primary Bone Repair (ROP) is the technique that offers, in physiological times, the best therapeutic results.

Objectives: Appraising the overall positive results of the above therapy, we wanted to verify and point out the effectiveness of this treatment in dental patients that undergo to bone reconstructive surgery operations with Magnetoelectric Therapy associated to primary bone repair implant prostheses.

Methods: 126 patients of both sexes in the 29 to 78 year age bracket underwent to bone reconstructive and primary bone repair implant therapy. In all there have been applied 385 radicular primary bone repair TMI prostheses (Pressing, RSM).

All the patients underwent to Magnetoelectric Therapy (Biomedical, Italy) and were performed two applications per day for 30 minutes, during a period of 45 days.

The bone repair has been evaluated radiologically after 30-60-90-120 days. All the radicular prostheses have been loaded within 120 days. During the therapy period 7 radicular prostheses have been lost. However, they have been inserted again and after the primary bone repair they have been regularly loaded.

Results: The combined therapy primary bone repair plus Magnetoelectric Therapy [TME] has showed, in all the patients, a notable increase of the mineralization and bone organization of the zones that underwent to surgical therapy, in far less time than the conventional therapy.

Conclusions: The combined use of the Magnetoelectrical Terapy and of the primary bone repair improves and strengthens the physiological mechanisms of the bone recovery.
