The profilogram represent the profile of face, it is used to classificate facial variations. Objectives: To stablish the facial pattern and to construct the profilogram in Central Mexican children (9 to 11 years old) by sex groups. Methods: 70 cephalometric radiographs from Central Mexican children with normal occlusion were traced. The sample was divided by sex: 36 females and 34 males. The linear measurements were obtained according to Sakamoto Analysis, the minimum and the maximum values, average and standar desviation were determinate to obtain the cephalometric norms, and to stablish the facial pattern by sex. Data were analized, using statistical Package program SPSS Version 15.0. Student t-test was used for comparison among sex groups. The average was used to construct the profilogram. Results: For the facial depth only N-Y showed statiscally significant difference (p<.05)among sex groups. For the facial high the values showed statiscally significant difference (p<0.5) between sex groups in the majority of measurements, except in N-X, ENP-X. In the upper facial high both sex showed statiscally significant difference(p<0.5). Conclusions: The dates obtained suggest differences in the facial pattern between females and males, for this reason the specific profilogram must be used for each sex in this age group.
