Cutting Edge of Implant Surfaces and Design - Clinical Significance

Sponsored by: Implantology Research
Description: A current goal of implantology research has been to develop new surfaces and designs that enhance bone formation adjacent to implant and to minimize bone resorption around implant. Recently bioactive molecule can be coated on implant surfaces to enhance bone formation. The state-of-art of these new modifications and their clinical meaning will be discussed. In the latter part of my presentation, the design of different systems and stress distribution around implants will be discussed. Noble implant design was made which composed of micro thread and power thread (Chun et al. 2002). External type, Internal type and One body type were developed based on same designs. The bone resorption around these implants were compared to other systems.
