Objectives: To evaluate the apical and periapical repair in dogs′ teeth following root canal filling using different endodontic sealers. Methods: Sixty-four root canals from dogs′ teeth were used. The root canals were prepared using K files and irrigation with 1% sodium hypochlorite solution. After the root canal preparation, they were divided into 4 groups. The root canals were obturated using lateral condensation of gutta-percha and one of the following root canal sealers: Group I - Intra Fill (based on zinc oxide and eugenol); Group II – AH Plus; Group III – Roeko Seal and Group IV – Resilon/Epiphany. After the period of 90 days, it was obtained histological sections of the periapical region, stained with Hematoxilin and Eosin. The inflammatory process, resorption and deposition of mineralized tissues in apical and periapical region were analysed during the histopathological evaluation. The examiners who evaluated the specimens were calibrated and blinded to the groups being evaluated. The obtained data were submitted to Kruskal-Wallis and Dunn's tests at 5% significance level. Results: The histopathological evaluation showed that Intrafill sealer (based on zinc oxide and eugenol) presented the worst apical and periapical repair than the other evaluated sealers (p<0,05). The AH Plus, Roeko Seal and Epiphany sealers presented better results, with low periapical inflammatory process and less resorption of mineralized tissues. This sealers presented similar results (p>0,05). Conclusion: AH Plus, Roeko Seal and Epiphany sealers present satisfactory biological property.
